My version differs slightly from Lawry's Classic Lasagna but not enough to NOT give them credit still!

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. *****I like to fill a container with water and pre-soak the noodles (whatever they will fit in)
  3. Brown ground beef in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat.
  4. Stir in Seasoning Mix, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Bring to boil on high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  5. Beat egg in large bowl.
  6. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Set aside.
  7. Layer 1/4 of the meat sauce, 3 noodles and 1/3 of the cheese mixture in 13x9-inch baking dish. Repeat layers twice, ending with meat sauce. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil.
  8. Bake 45 minutes. Remove foil.
  9. Bake 10 minutes longer or until noodles are tender. Turn Broiler on LOW and watch it closely as it toasts the cheese to a golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
